Abstract

Numerical notation is a system for writing musical works that uses the numbers 1 to 7 as note symbols. There are many elements in number notation, one of which is the price line and the extension mark which is a small line located above the note and a mark in the form of a dot located behind the note. A natural problem at SMP N 10 KUPANG is that students experience difficulty when bringing notes closer together with intervals that are farther apart. Thus, researchers are motivated to conduct research on learning efforts to read number notation at SMPN 10 Kupang City. The songs that are used as learning material for this number notation are the song Give Thanks . The formulation of the problem in this research is how to learn how to read number notation among students at SMP 10 Kupang City. The aim of the research is to apply learning to read number notation to students at SMP 10 Kupang City. Data obtained from observation and documentation of the learning process was then analyzed using qualitative methods which are descriptive analysis. Learning to read number notation through the solfegio method and the dril method for students at SMP 10 Kupang City, through implementation planning and evaluation steps. Open material includes reading number notation and mastering songs. The implementation of this learning process resulted in very good evaluation results with 10 students, so that the results of the research can be concluded that the students' abilities, apart from musicality, are also the motivation to learn in class and the learning methods provided.
