Abstract

The song of Boen Pena or corn bun is interpreted by the Dawan Tribe Community of Ainan Village as an expression of gratitude and gratitude to the Almighty or Uis Neno for the blessing of maintenance and the blessing of strength from the beginning of the planting process until the harvest arrives. The existence of Boen Pena singing in the people of Ainan Village has begun to fade, this is due to the progress of the times and the development of technology as well as the entry of arts from outside which has resulted in the new generation being more interested in modern art from outside the region. Boen Pena's singing is full of character education values, so this research is important to do. The problem in this study is how the form of the song Nyanyian Boen Pena and what character education values are contained in the Boen Pena song in Ainan Village, North Central Timor Regency (TTU). The purpose of this study is to examine and describe the form of Boen Pena singing and the values of inference through observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique was carried out to identify what characters are contained in Boen Pena's songs. The approach in this study is a qualitative analytical approach with ethnographic research methods. The data sources in this study are primary and secondary data sources. The data was collected by reducing data, presenting data and drawing conclusions. The results of this study found that Boen Pena's singing is a one-part song classification. The Boen Pena song consists of 4 verses that are repeated until the process of tying the harvested corn is completed. The singing begins with a nait nell or tonic taken by the parents who are trusted to take the tonni. There are 9 values of character education contained in Boen Pena songs, namely the values of discipline, hard work, democracy, love for the homeland, respect for achievements, friendship, care for the environment, social care and responsibility.
