Abstract
Thesis Title: Profile of the professional competence of guidance and counseling teachers at State Senior High School 4 Kupang according to the perceptions of subject teachers for the 2024/2025 school year. The issue explored in this study is how the profile of professional competence of guidance and counseling teachers at State Senior High School 4 Kupang is perceived by subject teachers for the 2024/2025 school year. The aim of the research is to identify the profile of professional competence of guidance and counseling teachers at State Senior High School 4 Kupang according to the perceptions of subject teachers for the 2024/2025 school year. The method used in this research is quantitative, and the data collection tool is a professional competence questionnaire. The data analysis technique used in the research applies the central tendency formula. The results of the data analysis show that the average score of the professional competence profile of guidance and counseling teachers at State Senior High School 4 Kupang, according to the perceptions of subject teachers for the 2024/2025 school year, is 263.61, which falls within the score range of 223–289, classified as high. It can be concluded that according to the perception of subject teachers, the guidance counselor at State Senior High School 4 Kupang has performed his duties well. Based on the analysis of the research data as previously outlined, the researcher proposes suggestions to the following parties: a) Principal: As the leader of the school, the principal is expected to supervise and support the improvement of the professional competence of guidance counselors by providing resources and supporting activities for the development of knowledge and skills. b) Guidance Counselor: The guidance counselor is expected to master, understand, and possess skills in providing counseling services, in order to help students achieve developmental tasks and optimal growth while adhering to the professional code of ethics.
