Abstract

The Guided Inquiry learning model is a learning model that requires independent students and plays an active role in presenting information. Students do not just sit, listen and write but students are lured into doing something. The teacher gives problems to students, then students are guided to find the best way to solve the problem. By finding yourself, investigating on your own, then the results obtained will be faithful and durable in memory, will not be easily forgotten by students. By learning discovery, students can also learn analytical thinking and try to solve problems themselves. This habit will be transferred in community life. The main problem in this study is how to apply the Guided Inquiry learning model to the subject matter of temperature and its changes to students of class VII E in the odd semester of SMP Negeri 9 Kota Kupang in the academic year 2018/2019? specifically can be formulated as follows: 1) how is the teacher's ability to manage learning activities by applying the Guided Inquiry learning model the subject matter of temperature and its changes to the seventh grade students of the odd semester of SMP Negeri 9 Kota Kupang in the academic year 2018/2019? 2) how is the completeness of the indicators of student learning outcomes by applying the Guided Inquiry learning model the subject matter of temperature and its changes to the VII E grade students of the odd semester of Kupang City Middle School 9 academic year 2018/2019? 3) how is the completeness of the learning outcomes of students by applying the Guided Inquiry learning model the subject matter of temperature and its changes to the VII E grade students of the odd semester of Kupang City Middle School 9 academic year 2018/2019? 4) how do students respond to learning activities by applying the Guided Inquiry learning model of the subject matter of temperature and its changes to students of class VII E in the odd semester of SMP Negeri 9 Kota Kupang in the academic year 2018/2019? This type of research is descriptive research. Subjects in this study were educators (researchers) and students of VII E grade in the odd semester of SMP Negeri 9 Kota Kupang in the 2018/2019 academic year totaling 29 students. Learning tools used in this study are as follows: Learning Materials for Students (BAPD), Learning Implementation Plans (RPP), Student Worksheets (LKPD), Learning Outcomes Grid (cognitive, affective, psychomotor). The technique used in collecting data is observation, tests and questionnaires. The instruments used in this study were observation management learning sheets, learning outcomes tests and response sheets for students. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis techniques which include average scores, proportions and percentages. The descriptive analysis results above show that the application of the Guided Inquiry learning model of the subject matter of temperature and its changes to students of class VII E odd semester of Kupang City Middle School 9 academic year 2018/2019 is optimal namely the ability of teachers to manage learning namely planning to obtain an average proportion 4.00,the implementation of learning gets an average proportion of 3.62, and learning evaluation gets an average proportion of 3.67; completeness of cognitive learning outcomes indicators 0.86, affective 0.80, and psychomotor 0.87; completeness of cognitive learning outcomes obtained an average proportion of U1 0.36 and U2 0.85, affective THB obtained an average proportion of 0.83, psychomotor THB obtained an average proportion of 0.86; and the responses of students get an average percentage of 74%.
