Abstract

Discovery learning approarch is an approach where students are invited to discover for themselves what is being learned then construct that knowledge by understanding its meaning. Based on observations when field experience at SMAN 2 Kupang found several problems namely students were still less actively involved in the learning process, students did not have the attention and interest and discipline in the chemistry learning process, students often felt reluctant when asking or answering questions in submitted by teacher. Then the discovery learning approach is applied so that students are directly involved in the learning process, students are active in the learning process and student. The purpose of this paper is to determine of learning outcomes that apply the discovery learning approach of Chemical Elements based on Field Experience Practices (PPL). From the results of the analysis obtained learning outcomes of students in learning that apply the discovery learning approach Chemistry material Elementary class of science XII 7 students of SMAN 2 Kupang based on Field Experience Practices (PPL) are as follows (a) learning outcomes for the knowledge aspect of 83.7 (b)learning outcomes for the skills aspect of 82,4 (c) learning outcomes for aspects of knowledge (KI 3)and skills (KI 4)of 83.2so it is said that learning applies the elemental chemistry discovey learning approach class of science XII 7 students of SMAN 2 Kupang based on Field Experience Practices (PPL) can increase earnings learning outcomes.
