Abstract

This study was conducted based on observations in class VII SMP Negeri 10 Kupang in the process of learning mathematics. Based on observations during carrying out Field Experience Practices ( PPL) , the use of teaching aids in schools has not been entrenched or not all mathematics teaching use teaching aids. This is due to the lack of awareness of the importance of the use of teaching aids and influences in learning, so that it is found when learning linear equations of one variable level of understanding, there is a slow and fast catching power of students when responding and working om problems some have difficulty. To make it easier for students to understand the material needed the teacher to use so the teaching of aids influences the activities of teaching in learning and student achievement.
