Abstract

The problems studied in this study are 1) Why the outbound techniques used to increase students’ social interaction?, 2) How about procedure for using outbound techniques to increase students’ social interaction?, 3) Is the use of outbound techniques effective for increase students’ social interaction?. Based on these problems, the purpose of this thesis are to 1) find out the reasons for using outbound techniques to increase students’ social interaction. 2) find out the procedure for implementing outbound techniques to increase the social interaction of students. 3) fine out the effectiveness of applying outbound techniques to increase students’ social interaction. This research is a descriptive qualitative research method in the form of literature study. The object of study in this research is the outbound technique and social interaction of students. This research used secondary data. The results of the discussion are: 1) the reason the writer use outbound techniques to increase students’ social interaction because through outbound techniques all the participants are directed to be actively and directly in various activities and feel how the activities work together in a group in the outbound, through simple games with a relaxed and fun atmosphere. 2) the procedure for using outbound techniques to increase students’ social interaction was done through 4 stages, there are: a) Experience formation, b) contemplation of experiences, c) concept formation, d) concept testing. 3) the effectiveness of using outbound techniques to increase the social interaction of students was supported by relevant research results by Permatasari, the results showed that there were differences in the level of students’ social interaction before and after getting treatment of experiential learning with outbound techniques. Student social interaction increased after being given experiential learning with outbound techniques. The effectiveness of this outbound technique is also supported by Wati, the results shows that there are differences and significant improvement before and after getting outbound training. This means that outbound social development is effective for increasing the social interaction skills of students. Based on the study above, the writer advise: 1) Counseling guidance teacher are expected to understand deeply about outbound techniques so that it can be used to increase the social interaction of students. 2) The writer is expected to know more about the use of outbound techniques to increase the social interaction of students so that it can be better implement the knowledge of the writer. 3) Observers of the problem of counseling guidance are expected to examine and examine more deeply the problem to increase the social interaction of students using outbound techniques.
