Abstract

The problems studied in this thesis are (1) why symbolic modeling techniques through group guidance are used to increase student achievement motivation, (2) how is the process of applying symbolic modeling techniques through group guidance to increase student achievement motivation, and (3) whether the application of symbolic modeling techniques through group guidance is effective for increasing achievement motivation students. This thesis was written (1) to find out the reasons for using symbolic modeling techniques to increase student achievement motivation, (2) to know the process of applying symbolic modeling techniques through group guidance to increase student achievement motivation, and (3) to determine the effectiveness of applying symbolic modeling techniques through group guidance to increase student achievement motivation. This thesis uses a literature study method, namely examining books and articles from previous research that are relevant to the title of this thesis. The object of this thesis study is symbolic modeling techniques and achievement motivation. Sources of data used in the writing of this thesis are secondary data sources, namely the second source of data obtained from books and articles of previous research that are relevant to the topic of this thesis. The type of data in this thesis is qualitative data, namely data in the form of words, sentences, and descriptions. The results of the study show that symbolic modeling techniques are the right technique to use to increase student achievement motivation because the benefits of symbolic modeling techniques are related to student achievement motivation. The symbolic modeling technique through group guidance is carried out in four stages, namely the formation stage, the intermediate stage, the activity stage which consists of the rational stage, giving xamples,practice/training, homework and evaluation, and the closing stage. Symbolic modeling techniques through group guidance are effective for increasing student achievement motivation as evidenced by articles of previous research results that are relevant to the topic of this thesis. Suggestions for readers are that this thesis is expected to be used as a reference material to deepen the knowledge, insights and skills of readers in applying symbolic modeling techniques through group guidance to increase achievement motivation. The suggestion for the writer is that this thesis is expected to increase the writer's knowledge, insight, and skills in applying symbolic modeling techniques through group guidance to increase student achievement motivation.
