Abstract
Reciprocal teaching is a learning model that emphasizes students to learn independently and explain the learning outcomes back to their peers, so students are more active in the learning process. This learning model students act as teachers to deliver material to their peers, while the teacher acts more as a facilitator and guide. This learning model consists of four strategies: students summarize and summarize the material, arrange questions and solve them, explain the knowledge gained, then predict the next question from the material discussed. Reciprocal teaching has advantages including: Practicing students' abilities in independent learning; Improve students' ability to understand concepts and solve problems. While the weaknesses of the reciprocal teaching model include: Dissatisfaction arises from other students because the one who plays the teacher is his friend. Mathematical learning activities are actually interactions between teacher students, students and students to clarify logical and creative thoughts and actions in addition to that mathematics learning must provide opportunities for students to try and find experiences about mathematics. Reciprocal teaching learning model can be applied in a process of teaching and learning mathematics in high school, it can be realized starting with presenting problems in class and discussing between students and teachers. This learning model emphasizes the active role of students as teachers in learning to build thinking processes so that they can be more creative.
