Abstract

This study aims to find out the type of procedural error and the the cause of procedural error made by students in solving problem about the story of the two variables linear equation system. This research is descriptive qualitative research. Thedata collection techniques used are test and interview conducted to the learners. The result of the study aimed to find out the students who made mistake and its cause. Based on the test result, the students' procedural errorwas obtained. In general, the mistakes made are found in the steps of completion and when doing calculation, the cause of procedural error made by learners is because they do not understand the content of the question, not careful in the calculation and less careful in associating the intent of the problem so that the final conclusion is wrong.
