Abstract
This thesis discusses the teacher's efforts in improving student learning activities during the covid-19 pandemic at SMP N 1 Rote Timur. Researchers will focus their research on: 1). To find out the efforts of mathematics teachers in improving student learning activities during the covid-19 pandemic. 2). To find out the supporting factors of mathematics teachers in increasing student learning activities during the covid-19 pandemic. This study uses a quantitative approach. Research subjects: principal: Enepelita Sepriana Lami SE, mathematics teacher: Mulyani Beama S.Pd and student: Gatry Adu at SMP N 1 Rote Timur. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this research conducted by researchers are as follows: 1). The teacher's efforts in improving mathematics learning during the covid-19 pandemic at SMP N 1 Rote Timur is by teaching a teacher, when the teacher is creative in teaching and explaining learning to his students, of course the student will not feel bored or bored in participating in mathematics learning. and here also the teacher is required to design lesson plans and mathematics learning media that make students play an active role in their learning. 2). Supporting factors that help teachers improve mathematics learning at SMP N 1 Rote Timur are teachers preparing creative learning starting from lesson plans preparation, learning methods and varied media so that teaching and learning activities are more effective and efficient and in accordance with the learning objectives being taught. 3). The obstacles faced by teachers in increasing math learning activities during the covid-19 pandemic at SMP N 1 Rote Timur were the influence of noisy friends during learning, the lack of cellphone facilities and study time and teacher interaction which were usually not limited, because of this covid-19 students are limited to all learning activities in learning mathematics and other learning.
