Abstract
Effectiveness of the Application of Assertiveness Training techniques in Group Guidance for the Improvement of Students SelfConcept. The problems studied in this thesis are : (1) why is the Assertiveness training technique in group guidance applied to improve students’ self-concept ?, (2) what is the procedure for applying the Assertiveness Training technique in group guidance to improve students’ self-concept ?, (3) is the application of Assertiveness Training techniques in group effective for improving students’ self-concept ?. The objectives of wraiting this thesis are : (1) Knowing the reasons for using Assertiveness Training techniques in group guidance to improve students seld-concept. (2) knowing the procedures for implementing Assertiveness Training techniques in group guidance to improve students self-concept, (3) knowing the effectiveness of the application Assertiveness Training techniques in group guidance to improve students self-concept. This thesis uses a literature study method. The object of study is the Assertiveness Training technique, group guidance and self concept. The data sources used in this thesis are secondary data sources. This type of data is a type of qualitative data. The result of the study show that the Asseriveness Training technique is related to the self concept of students, because the benefits of the Assertiveness Training technique are related to the self-concept of students. The Assertiveness Training technique through group guidance is carried out in four stages, namely the formation stage, the intermediate stage, the activity stage consisting of the rational stage, identifying conditions that cause problems, distinguishing positive and follow-up, termination. Assertiveness Training techniques in group guidance are effective for improving students self-concep which is evident from previous research articles thet are relevant to the topic of this thesis. Based on the results of this thesis study, the authors provide suggegstions to (1) readers, are expected to further deepen insight, knowledge of Assertiveness Training techniques to improve students’ self-concept, (2) Bk teachers are expected to deepen knowledge and improve skills in applying Assertiveness Training techniques to improve students’ self-concept, (3) author, are expected to better understand the process of applying Assertiveness Training techniques to improve students self-conceppt.
