Abstract

Gambus is one of the musical instruments such as guitar with a larger / convex body and not infrequently decorated. at this time we rarely find easy children playing peat musical instruments. Interest in modern music is more dominant than traditional musical instruments This phenomenon is not only found in the community but also in the UNWIRA Kupang Campus environment. There are several things that are factors that cause this problem, including the scarcity of traditional musical instruments themselves and also the interest in playing traditional musical instruments is very low. This is a demand for students of the Music Education Study Program in terms of preserving our traditional music, especially peat musical instruments. The main problem in this study is how to apply the game of the Lamaholot Ethnic peat instrument with dendereo songs using the solfeggio and drill methods for students in the fourth semester of the Music Education Study Program? The goal to be achieved in this study is to find out how the process of applying the lamaolot ethnic peat instrument game with dendereo songs using the drill and solfeggio methods for fourth semester students of the music education study program. The type of research used in this research is qualitative research and the method used in this study is field action research and in collecting data the author uses several techniques, namely literature studies and field studies. This literature study is closely related to books that become references related to theoretical concepts. Field studies are closely related to observation, interviews and documentation. The results showed that the learning process was carried out through the following steps: Explaining the brief history of the entry of peat musical instruments in Indonesia, explaining the organological aspects of peat musical instruments, explaining the position of the body when playing peat, explaining the technique of passages in playing peat, explaining the technique of pressing strings and numbering fingers for each note, providing examples of playing musical instruments with simple songs and providing basic etude for playing musical instruments peat. In the final stage of the study, researchers prepared a dendereo song which is a Lamaholot folk song, Adonara. At this stage, the subject of the study is required to be able to apply what has been learned to this song. The creativity of the research subjects is highly demanded in expressing their musical ideas in dendereo songs to be further presented in the form of videos as the final result of the learning process. Based on the results of the research above, it can be concluded that the application of peat musical instrument games through the solfeggio and drill methods is quite effective in improving student skills in the Music Education Study Program. The learning of peat musical instruments is also expected to be a material for learning in art education institutions, especially in the Music Education Study Program.
