Abstract
Rangkuk Alu is one of the dances whose accompaniment comes from bamboo beats or blows. This variation of the stroke also tests the agility of the dancers in jumping over bamboo. This dance was originally in the form of two rhythms, so it felt poor and monotonous. The researcher intends to develop the accompaniment pattern to make it more varied and interesting. The main problem in this study is how to develop an accompaniment pattern in the Rangkuk Alu Dance using imitation and drill methods for students interested in dance at WAEMOKEL CATHOLIC SMP. The purpose of this study was to determine the efforts to develop an accompaniment pattern in the Rangkuk Alu Dance using the imitation and drill method on the dance students of WAEMOKEL CATHOLIC SMP. This research uses a qualitative approach with the field action method. In collecting data, the writer uses several techniques, namely literature study and field study. Literature studies related to journal books and internet sources. Field studies are closely related to data acquisition through observation, interviews and documentation. The results showed that efforts to develop the accompaniment pattern for the Rangkuk Alu dance using imitation and drill methods for students interested in dance at the Waemokel Catholic Junior High School were carried out in several stages, namely the initial stage, approaching the cultural arts teacher, recruiting students and setting a training schedule. The core stage, carrying out an exercise process that begins with a familiar accompaniment pattern, then continues with the accompaniment pattern created by the researcher. The final stage, presenting the results of the exercise. The difficulties experienced by students in the above training process are carried out using imitation and drill methods.
