Abstract

Manuka'kae singing at the celebration of the Month of the Rosary is a performance in the form of local songs from the Kaen'leon Tribe Community of Naimana Village. The problem related to this research is how the Form of Presentation and Function of Manuka'kae singing at the celebration of the Month of the Rosary. The aim is to explore, find out the form of presentation and meaning of Manuka'kae singing for the kaen'leon tribe community at the Rosary Month celebration in Naimana Village, Malacca Regency. This study uses a qualitative approach by utilizing the ethnographic method. Data collection techniques are Literature Study and Field Study which consists of Observation, Interview and Documentation Process. Data analysis techniques are data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. Sources of data obtained are primary and secondary data. The theory in this study is related to Culture and Ethnomusicology, namely studying the Form of Presentation and Function of Manuka'kae Singing from the point of view of the culture and traditions of the Kaen'leon Tribe. The research shows that Manuka'kae Song as a medium to integrate all components of Christian society so as to create a sense of unity and belonging to welcome the Celebration of the Month of the Rosary by involving Manuka'kae singing is a simple song with rhymes containing a message that every year at the beginning of October in the Month of the Rosary always celebrations are held in honor of the Mother and the Savior.
