Abstract
This research aims to: describe the students learning independence in mathematics subject of the quadratic equation in class X sience SMA Kristen 1 Kupang academic year 2017/2018, describe the mathematics learning style of the subject of quadratic equations in students of class X Science SMA Kristen 1 Kupang academic year 2017/2018, and find out whether there is effect of independence and learning styles on mathematics learning achievement subject of quadratic equation in class X Science SMA Kristen 1 Kupang academic year 2017/2018. The type of research used is quantitative research with analytical techniques used are descriptive and inferential data analysis using SPSS 22.0 for windows. Population in this research is all student of class X Science SMA Kristen 1 Kupang with research sample consist of 37 students taken randomly using simple random sampling technique. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and mathematics achievement tests. Based on descriptive analysis, the level of learning independence of students on mathematics learning achievement is quite good and the level of learning style of students on mathematics learning achievement is quite good. Multiple linear regression equation from result of research that is Y = 10,759 + 0,988 X1 + 0,847 X2. Hypothesis testing using simultaneous test, after data analyzed obtained sig value (2-tailed) = 0,00 < 0,05 and Fhitung = 33,766 > 4.12 = Ftabel then H0 rejected, which means independence and learning style significantly influence to mathematics learning achievement of students. It can be concluded that there is a significant effect simultaneously from the independence and learning styles to the achievement of mathematics learning subject of quadratic equation in the students of class X Science SMA Kristen 1 Kupang academic year 2017/2018.
