Abstract

This study aims to knowing the effect of model contextual teaching and learning on mathematical communication skills of eighth grade students of 9 kupang State Middle School. The research material used is the numeral Pattern. The population in this study is class VIII Kupang 9 State Middle School, amounting to seven classes and the sample in this study is one class using a simple random sampling technique taken randomly. (to find out student attitudes) and tests to measure mathematical communication skills. Data analysis was performed using the SPSS 22.0 for Windows program. From the output of SPSS 22.0 for Windows, based on the normality test, the model of Contextual Teaching and Learning has an effect on mathematical communication skills. From the results of tests of mathematical communication skills the average value of mathematical communication skills for pretest was 52 and posstest was 82. After that the data is tested using SPSS V. 22. Before testing the hypothesis, prerequisite test is done, that is normality test for pretest and posttest data. From the results of the data analysis for prestest, the Asymp value was obtained. Sig (2-tailed) = 0.200> 0.05 and Dhitung = 0.123 0.05 and Dhitung = 0.123 2,045 = ttable, then reject H0, so it can be concluded that there is the effect of the use of the Contextual Teaching and Learning model on junior high school students' mathematical communication skills. The results of this study indicate the use of model Contextual Teaching and Learning in mathematics learning effect students' mathematical communication skills. Based on the results of the study, the researchers concluded that there was a significant effect between learning facilities and learning styles on mathematics learning achievement of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 9 Kupang.
