Abstract

Performance is the result obtained by an organization that is both profit oriented and non profit oriented which is produced over a period of time. Performance is used to measure and evaluate the process in achieving the results or goals of an organization or company. This study describes how the performance of the XI Merauke Defense Base Battalion carried out its duties in maintaining the stability of the country. In addition, it refers to the main tasks and functions as a combat unit assigned to the border areas of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. The performance carried out emphasizes on fostering maritime potential, fostering and improving the quality of resources and also as a security force against factors that threaten the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. The approach used to see how the performance description is carried out is through the five indicators, namely, productivity, service quality, responsiveness, responsiveness, and accountability. The five indicators will be analyzed using quantitative and qualitative methods. The factors that become obstacles in the performance carried out are the low stigma of the community regarding the apparatus, in addition to managing their own resources, they still need to be maximized so that people at the border are able to be independent in managing resources. . The development of maritime potential that is carried out is part of the main tasks and functions in carrying out amphibious operations, securing the outer islands as well as fostering the strength and readiness of maritime unit operations. The XI Merauke Defense Base Battalion is present in the midst of the community and collaborates with the community so that the resilience and security and stability of the Republic of Indonesia can be realized. Based on the five indicators used in this study, the performance carried out by the XI Defense Base Battalion is very good, strengthening state defense and stability requires coaching that has a positive impact on the wider community, building communication, community empowerment and synergizing with community leaders in various activities. both in problem solving and other cultural activities are the main keys in achieving the vision, mission and goals in carrying out tasks. To be able to access general information, it is necessary to improve again such as making a website so that the wider community can know and access general information about the XI Merauke Defense Base Battalion.
