Abstract

Discovery Learning is a model or learning strategy that emphasizes direct experience in the field to find concepts through a series of data or information obtained through observation or experiment. The main problem in this research is how to apply the learning model of Discovery Learning of the subject matter of temperature and its change to the students of VIIC class of odd semester of SMP Negeri 2 kupang academic year 2017/2018? Specifically can be formulated as follows: 1) how the ability of teachers in managing the learning process by applying the learning model of the subject matter material Discovery Learning and its changes to students VIIC class semester odd SMP Negeri 2 kupang academic year 2017/2018? 2) how the completeness of learning outcome indicators by applying the Discovery Learning Model of Temperature and Its Changing Material to students VIIC grade semester odd SMP Negeri 2 Kupang academic year 2017 / 2018.3). how to complete the learning outcomes of learners by applying the learning model of Discovery Learning Material Main Temperature and its change in students VIIC grade odd semester SMP Negeri 2 Kupang academic year 2017 / 2018.4). how the learners response to learning activities by applying the learning model Discovery Learning Material Main Temperature and Changes in students VIIC grade odd semester SMP Negeri 2 Kupang academic year 2017 / 2018.5). Investigate the effectiveness of applying the learning model of Discovery Learning. The type of research is descriptive research and the subjects of this study are students VIIC class SMP Negeri 2 Kupang academic year 2017/2018 which amounted to 30 people and teachers (researchers). The learning tools used are Syllabus, Learning Implementation Plan (RPP), Student Learning Material (BAPD), Student Learning Worksheet (LKPD), Grid and Test of Learning Outcomes (THB). Techniques used to collect data in this study are Observation, Test, and Questionnaire. Instruments used in this study are Observation Sheet Management Learning, Test Results Learning (THB) and Sheets Response Students. Technique of data analysis of this research is descriptive analysis by calculating mean value, percentage, and proportion. Based on the results of descriptive analysis of research data said that the application of learning model of Discovery Learning is optimal for the subject matter of Temperature and its change in the students of VIIC class SMP Negeri 2 Kupang, amounting to 30 people. In detail as follows: The ability of teachers in managing learning activities by applying the model of learning discovery learning that includes: learning tools, learning implementation and instrumeni learning is included in either category. Indicators of Learning Outcomes prepared all completed. Learning result of physics learners in general complete with good category. The response of learners to the implementation of learning by applying the model of learning discovery learning is in very good category.
