Abstract

According to the lack of students comprehension about mathematical concepts in geometry, a study was conducted to describe the process of students rigorous mathematical thingking in solving mathematical problems related to geometry. This study used descriptive-qualitative research method. A total of two students were selected to become the subjects in this research. The instruments used in this research were the researcher itself as the main instrument and the interview sheet as well as problem solving task as the support instruments. Both of the students selected before would be inteviewed and given problem soliving tasks. The result showed that students could not define the problems. It means that they could not analyze the most suitable mathematical problem solving steps to carry out the tasks. In the contrary, the students satisfy the indicator of labeling which mean that they only could name some geometry objects given in the problem solving tasks.
