Abstract

The Oebanit song is a song that was always sung by the people of Oelneke Village, Musi District, TTU when tying the harvested corn.This tradition is passed down from generation to generation to express gratitude to God for the abundant harvest so that the community has sufficient food reserves, along with the passage of time, At this time the tradition is starting to fade where people no longer tie corn in groups while singing Oebanit songs. Based on this reality, the author is interested in conducting research on the existence of Oebanit singing in corn tying activities in the community of Oelneke Village, Musi District, North Middle East Regency. The utala problems in this study are: 1) how to present Oebanit in the activity of tying corn to the community of Oelneke Village, Musi District, North Middle East Regency?; 2) What is the meaning contained in the Oebanit song in the activity of tying corn in the community of Oelneke Village, Musi District, North Middle East Regency?. The objectives of this study are 1) To describe how to present Oebanit in corn tying activities in the community of Oelneke Village, Musi District, North Middle East Regency. ; 2) To describe the meaning contained in the Oebanit song in the activity of tying corn in the community of Oelneke Village,Musi District, North Middle East Regency. The source of the reaserch data is the traditional head and parents in the indigenous people of Oelneke village. This research uses a qualitative approach with the research method being ethnography. The research data was collected using interview, observation, and documentation study techniques. The research data was analyzed descriptively qualitatively. The results of the study show that 1) The Oebanit song sung by the Oelneke Village Community, Musi District, North Middle East Regency is presented by creating two groups in which in both groups must be present, each has a leader and has group members consisting of men and women. 2) The Oebanit song contains the meaning of an expression of joy, gratitude to God (usi neno).
