Abstract

Jigsaw type cooperative learning is a learning model where students learn in small groups consisting of 4-6 people. Each member is responsible for studying a particular problem from the material provided and conveying the material to other group members. This research aims to see how complete the learning outcomes are and how students respond, after implementing the jigsaw type cooperative learning model. The sample in this study was 18 students in class XI Science at Sint Carolus Catholic High School, Kupang. The sampling technique in this research is saturated sampling (census sample). The data collection techniques used were test questions and questionnaires. The instruments used were instrument validation sheets and learning tools, cognitive learning outcome test questions and student response questionnaires. Based on the results of research data analysis, it is stated that by applying the jigsaw type cooperative learning model on temperature and heat material, the cognitive learning outcomes of class is in the good category. Thus, it can be said that applying the jigsaw type cooperative learning model to the temperature and heat material in class XI Science at Sint Carolus Catholic High School, Kupang is very optimal.
