Abstract

This thesis is entitled: The Role of Sub-district Head Leadership in the Amarasi Sub-district Office, Kupang Regency, NTT Province. The main problem in this study is how the role of sub-district head leadership in the Amarasi Subdistrict Office and what factors influence sub-district head leadership in the Amarasi Sub-district Office. Thus, the purpose of this study is to determine the role of subdistrict head leadership and also to determine what factors influence sub-district head leadership in the Amarasi Sub-district Office. This study uses the theory of Kartono (2008), where there are six indicators of leadership, namely decision making, motivation, communication, controlling subordinates, responsibility, and emotional. To obtain a picture of the leadership role of the sub-district head at the Amarasi Sub-district Office, the author conducted a study using a qualitative descriptive research method. Primary data sources were obtained directly from informants, while secondary data sources were obtained through books, and official documents from the Amarasi Sub-district Office and agencies related to this study. Informants in this study were Employees and the Community. Based on the research results, it shows that the leadership role of the subdistrict head at the Amarasi Sub-district Office has been running well, although the leader is an Acting Head but he is able to carry out his role as a leader within the limited authority given, the lack of infrastructure in this case computers, printers, lack of human resources, namely employees who are not proficient in operating computers but do not become an obstacle for employees in completing their duties and responsibilities to serve the community.
