Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' errors in solving geometric transformation story problems based on Newman's stages reviewed from students' learning styles. This type of research is qualitative descriptive research. This research was conducted at SMA St. Arnoldus Janssen Kupang in the odd semester of 2024/2025. The subjects in this study were selected using purposive sampling by selecting 1 subject representing a visual learning style, 1 subject representing an auditory learning style and 1 subject representing a kinesthetic learning style. The data collection method in this study was filling out a learning style questionnaire, giving test questions, interviews and documentation. This study uses the Miles and Huberman model data analysis technique, which consists of 3 stages, namely, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The validity of this research data uses technical triangulation. Based on the results of this study, it was found that students with visual learning styles experienced transformation errors, process errors and result errors in question number 3. Students with auditory learning styles experienced understanding errors, transformation errors, process errors and result errors in question number 1. Students with kinesthetic learning styles experienced understanding errors, transformation errors, process errors and result errors in question number 1. Transformation errors, process errors and result errors in question number 2. Process errors and result errors in question number 3.
