Abstract

This thesis research examines the "Development Strategy of Rana Tonjong Lake Tourism Destination in Nanga Mbaling Village, Sambi Rampas District, East Manggarai Regency", motivated by the Rana Tonjong Lake tourist destination being one of the APBD of East Manggarai Regency, however the development of Rana Tonjong Lake tourism has not been maximized, the formulation of the problem of this study is how is the Development Strategy of Rana Tonjong Lake Tourism Destination and What are the Inhibiting Factors of Rana Tonjong Lake Tourism Destination Development in Nanga Mbaling Village, Sambi Rampas District, East Manggarai Regency. In this study the method used is descriptive qualitative. The data obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation of this study aims to describe and analyze the strategy for developing the Rana Tonjong Lake tourist destination and to determine the inhibiting factors in the process of developing the Rana Tonjong Lake tourist destination in Nanga Mbaling Village, East Manggarai Regency using the theory of tourism development according to Cooper (2006) which includes four very important elements, namely: attraction, access required (accessibility), facilities required (amenity) and supporting services (acillary services). The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions on what is obtained in the field. Based on the results of this study, the main attraction of Rana Tonjong Lake is the natural beauty, human works, and local culture of the community. The facilities available at Rana Tonjong Lake are Lopo, Toilets, Trash Cans, Water Wells and the Lake Circumferential Road. Transportation available at Rana Tonjong Lake is public transportation, the entrance to the lake is very easy to reach, the infrastructure at Rana Tonjong Lake includes a footpath, lopo, and the entrance gate to the tourist area, Information and promotion are carried out using Facebook media, Instagram owned by the East Manggarai Regency Tourism and Culture Office, support from various parties also greatly supports the development of this tourist destination. Conclusion: interesting tourism potential for visitors, local cultural diversity that can be an added value in the development of Rana Tonjong Lake tourist attractions, accessibility to Rana Tonjong Lake requires road infrastructure development, development of public transportation, and other supporting facilities need to be considered so that tourists can easily visit the lake. Suggestions: maintenance and repair of infrastructure, addition of tourist facilities, tourism promotion through social media, partnerships with the private sector, training and development of human resources, development of cultural programs and environmental sustainability.
