Abstract

Science education, particularly in physics, often faces obstacles due to abstract material that requires deep conceptual understanding. One common problem encountered in the learning process is the limited availability of adequate practical facilities, which results in low student participation and suboptimal development of scientific process skills. The objectives of this study are: 1) To determine whether the use of PhET simulation virtual laboratories has an effect on students' scientific process skills in Newton's Laws at UPTD SMP Negeri 15 Kupang. 2) To determine whether the use of PhET simulation virtual laboratories has an effect on students' learning activities in Newton's Laws at UPTD SMP Negeri 15 Kupang. This study was conducted at UPTD SMP Negeri 15 Kupang. The design used was a one-shot case study, which is a research design that involves only one measurement after the treatment is given to the research subjects, without a pretest and without a control group. The research sample consisted of all 30 students in class VII D. Data collection techniques used essay questions and questionnaires. The results of this study showed that the calculated Fvalue was 16.760 with a significance of 0.005. This means that there is a significant effect between the use of the PhET simulation virtual laboratory and students' science process skills and learning activities. The use of the PhET simulation virtual laboratory has a significant effect on students' science process skills and learning activities.
