Abstract

The Elele Telik song is a traditional song used as accompaniment for the Tais Mutin dance by the community of Weoe Village, Malaka Regency. This song is often sung during guest receptions and entertainment events using verses in the local language. The research questions in this study are: (1) How is the form of presentation of the Elele Telik song in the Tais Mutin Dance in Weoe Village, Wewiku District, Malaka Regency? (2) What meanings are contained in the Elele Telik song as accompaniment to the Tais Mutin Dance in Weoe Village, Wewiku District, Malaka Regency? The objectives of this study are: (1) to identify and describe the form of presentation of the Elele Telik song as accompaniment to the Tais Mutin Dance, and (2) to analyze and describe the meaning of the Elele Telik song as accompaniment to the Tais Mutin dance. This study uses a qualitative approach with ethnographic methods. Data were collected using interview, observation, and documentation techniques. The results show that the form of presentation of the Elele Telik song is solo, where the singer sings while playing the Raraun musical instrument and is accompanied by the Kleni musical instrument. The meaning of the Elele Telik song strongly conveys cultural messages, values of diversity and togetherness, as well as an invitation to further elevate the role of norms and life values, and respect for parents and fellow community members.
