Abstract

This study aims to describe the process of women's empowerment through the production of virgin coconut oil by the Dasawisma Cinta Ibu group in Tuawolo Village, East Adonara Subdistrict, East Flores Regency. The research focuses on three main indicators of women's empowerment: participation, control, and benefits. The method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Informants include the Village Head, the Dasawisma group leader and members, consumers, and kiosk owners involved in product marketing. The findings reveal that women are actively involved in all stages of virgin coconut oil production, from selecting raw materials to distributing the final product. Despite facing challenges such as limited equipment, marketing constraints, and access to training, the group demonstrates strong enthusiasm and independence. The empowerment program has led to tangible benefits, including increased household income, financial independence for women, and greater involvement of women in household and community decision-making. The study recommends continued support from the village government, expanded market access, and further training to ensure a more optimal and sustainable empowerment program.
