Abstract

Alor Regency has unique natural and cultural resources. Its tourist destinations include the exotic islands of Rusa, Kangge, and Kepa, the beaches of Ling'al and Batu Putih, as well as Manna Waterfall, Tuti Hot Springs, Perlama Hill, and Rolmelang Peak. There is also Takpala Village, the 1000 Moko Museum, and the Old AT-Taqwa Mosque as cultural and religious heritage sites. However, this great tourism potential has not been optimally utilized because there is no location-based application that can help tourists obtain complete, accurate, and efficient destination information. This research aims to overcome the limitations of tourism information through the development of an Android-based tourism application with Location-Based Services (LBS) technology. The solution offered includes the development of a location-based tourism information system that displays destinations according to the user's position, complete with descriptions, facilities, and tourist activities in the surrounding area. The GPS feature also guides tourists to find the fastest route, thereby facilitating travel and enhancing the tourism experience in Alor Regency. The development stages use the Waterfall model, which includes Communication, Planning, Modeling, Construction, and Implementation. The results of the study show that this Android tourism application provides accurate and interactive information with a GPS feature that helps find the fastest route and supports the promotion of tourism in Alor Regency.
