Abstract
Students’ motivations and students’ interests in learning are two main factors that influence students’ achievement. The problem statement of this research is,do students’ motivations and students’interests influence their Mathematics achievement? The purpose of this research is to find out the significant influence between students’ motivations and students’ interests towards their Mathematic achievement in sub chapter of equality and inequality linear of one variable. The researcher carried out this research in the seventh grade students of Maria Asumpta Catholic Junior High School of Kupang in school year of 2018/2019. This quantitative research used multiple linear regression analysis as a technique of statistic analysis. The population of this research was all students of the seventh grade of Maria Asumpta Catholic Junior High School of Kupang, specifically; the researcher chose the class of D as the sample of this research. In collecting the data, she used questionnaires and carried out a test on students’ achievement in Mathematics. Based on the output of SPSS 22.0 for Windows, it’s that partial test (test t) students’ motivation (X1) tcalculated = (-1,883) < 2,09302 = ttable , so H0 is accepted which means that students’ motivation did not influence students’ achievements. On the other hand , students’ interests (X2) tcalculated = 2,649 > 2,09302 = ttable , H0 is recejted which means that students’ interests influenced students’ achievements. Doubled linier regression is accepted with the form of estimation as Y ൌa + bଵXଵbଶXଶ= 74,242 + (-0,724) X1 + 0,629 X2 form as with the variable X1 indicated learning motivation, X2 indicated learning interest, and variable Y as students’ achievement in Mathematics with Fcalculated= 3,978 > 3 , 44 = Ftable, based on the results of the data analysis, it can be conclude that learning motivation and learning interest simultaneously influenced students’ achievement in learning Mathematics, specifically in the topic discussion of THE EQUALITY AND INEQUALITY LINEAR OF ONE VARIABLE LINEAR OF THE SEVENTH GRADE STUDENTS OF MARIA ASUMPTA CATHOLIC JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL IN SCHOOL YEAR OF 2018/2019.
