Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine: 1) Overview of parenting patterns,teacher competence, principal leadership, student achievement motivation and studentlearning discipline in SMA Negeri 2 Sulamu students. 2) The influence of parenting style,teacher competence, principal's leadership on student achievement motivation in SMA Negeri 2 Sulamu students. 3) The influence of parenting style, teacher competence,principal's leadership on student learning discipline in SMA Negeri 2 Sulamu students. The influence of parenting style, teacher competence, principal's leadership on student learning discipline with achievement motivation as an intervening variable in students of SMA Negeri 2 Sulamu. This study uses quantitative methods. The sample of this research is students of SMA Negeri 2 Sulamu, Kupang Regency that is consisting of 35 people. Analysis technique inferential using the WarpPLS 7.0 application. Descriptive statistical analysis results shows the variables of parenting, teacher competence, leadership of the Head Schools, student achievement motivation and learning discipline of SMA Negeri 2 Sulamu students is in the "Good" category. For the direct effects test of the results of inferential statistical analysis shows that parenting and teacher competence have a significant effect on the achievement motivation of SMA Negeri 2 Sulamu students, while the principal leadership has no significant effect on achievement motivation of SMA Negeri 2 Sulamu students. Furthermore, parenting patterns of teacher competence and motivation student achievement has a significant effect on the learning discipline of high school students Negeri 2 Sulamu, while the principal's leadership does not significant effect on student learning discipline of SMA Negeri 2 Sulamu. For the indirect effects test of the results of inferential statistical analysis shows that parenting has a significant effect on discipline student learning with student achievement motivation as an intervening variable in students SMA Negeri 2 Sulamu, while the teacher competence and leadership of the Principal does not have a significant effect on student learning discipline with motivation student achievement as an intervening variable in students of SMA Negeri 2 Sulamu. Based on the conclusions obtained, the researchers suggest the following: 1) Parents are expected to maintain closeness with their children, give more freedom to children however who are responsible and improve their communication patterns with children; 2) Principals in carrying out their leadership are required to understand their main duties well and have good relationships as well as improve good interaction and communication with parents, teachers and employees as well as students; 3) Teachers are expected to maintain interaction and familiarity with students but need to evaluate themselves and show exemplary in terms of attitude and personality; and 4) Teachers are also expected to provide assistance to parents who have limitations in the use of Information and Communication Technology-based tools (such as smartphones, laptops and others) so that they can accompany their children in learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.
