Abstract

The teachers’ performance at Public Senior High School, Fatuleu Sub District, Kupang Regency is categorized as good. This study aims to know: 1) the description of academic supervision, teachers’ education and training, professional competence, teachers’ discipline, and performance at Public Senior High School, Fatuleu Sub District, Kupang Regency; 2) the significance of effect of academic supervision, teachers’ education and training, professional competence and work discipline on teachers’ performance; 3) the significance of effect of academic supervision, professional competence and teachers’ education and training through teachers’ work discipline, on teachers’ performance. The population in this research is 56 teachers at Public Senior High School, Fatuleu Sub District, Kupang Regency and all are taken as sample (population sample). The data are collected using a questionnaire, documentation study, and interview. The collected data are analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistic. The results of descriptive statisthic analysis indicate that teachers’ performance (68.82%), work discipline (70.30%), professional competence (77.50%), academic supervision (68.41%), education and training (70.63%) are categorized as good. The results of inferential statisthic analysis show that professional competence (sig. 0.000 < 0.05) has a positive and significant effect on work discipline, academic supervision (sig. 0.000 < 0.05) has a positive and significant effect on work discipline, education and training (sig. 0.020 < 0.05) has a positive and significant effect on work discipline; teachers’ work discipline (sig. 0.002 < 0.05) has a positive and significant effect on teachers’ performance, professional competence (sig. 0,000< 0,05) has a positive and significant effect on teachers’ performance, academic supervision (sig. 0.03 < 0.05) has a positive and significant effect on teachers’ performance. Furthermore, professional competence influences teachers’ performance through work discipline (4.650, sig. 0.000 < 0.05); academic supervision influences teachers’ performance through work discipline (2.184, sig. 0.029 < 0.05); education and training influences teachers’ performance through work discipline (2.017, sig. 0.044); education and training (0.000 < 0.05) has a positive and significant effect directly on teachers’ performance. Based on these results, it is suggested to enhance teachers’ performance by facilitating teachers to pursue higher education and join the nonformal education such as training, regularly supervise and control all learning activities.
