Abstract
This study aims to determine the students' creative thinking skills in solving mathematical problems based on the Wallas Stages in class X SMAN 5 Kupang, totaling 2 students. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used are tests, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique was carried out in three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the YF subject's creative thinking process was able to carry out the four Wallas stages. However, at each stage of Wallas, only one YF subject was able to perform the three criteria for creative thinking, namely fluency, flexibility and novelty at the preparation stage. For the other three stages, YF subjects were only able to perform 1 or 2 criteria for creative thinking. Namely, the YF subject at the incubation stage, the YF subject performed the criteria for creative thinking with fluency and flexibility, and at the illumination and verification stage, only performed the criteria for creative thinking with fluency. While the creative thinking process of the SLH subject is able to carry out the four stages of Wallas. However, at each stage of Wallas, the SLH subject is only able to perform the three criteria for creative thinking, namely fluency, flexibility and novelty at the preparation stage, for the other three stages only perform 1 or 2 criteria for creative thinking. That is, at the incubation stage, the criteria for creative thinking are fluency and flexibility, and at the illumination and verification stage, only the criteria for creative thinking are fluency.
