In this study, the researcher found that there are 2 strategies in Redeker theory, namely formal and informal used by the participants in expressing likes and dislikes based on 24 situations given by the researcher. It shows that formal strategy in expressing dislikes occurred 10 times while informal strategy occurred 124 times and formal strategy in expressing likes occurred 47 times, while informal strategy occurred 86 times. From the data analysis above, it can be concluded that the most dominant formal and informal strategy used by participants in expressing dislike is the informal strategy and the most dominant formal and informal strategy used by participants in expressing likes is the informal strategy.
