Abstract

Image is a visual picture of an object or several objects. Nowadays, the use of images in various fields of life is increasing day by day. The increasing number of images causes problems in the image recovery process. This causes the process of storing and managing data in the form of images to be something that cannot be underestimated. On this basis, an image retrieval system was built to facilitate the management of image data. Histogram-based feature extraction method is an alternative that can be used to answer the above problems. This method extracts visual texture and color features from the image by calculating the average value of intensity, standard deviation, skewness, energy and smoothness of an image. The fruit image retrieval system using histograms with texture and color-based feature extraction is able to display all images in the database based on their similarity to the query image, with an accuracy percentage of 85% for retrieving the appropriate image.
