Abstract

Woven fabric which is one of the cultural heritage is cultural preservation that has been maintained and maintained for generations. In addition to having a distinctive motif, woven fabrics also have colors as an attraction from each region. Along with the times, the use of dyes that initially used natural dyes began to decrease and switched to artificial dyes, due to the hypothesis that natural dyes experience a decrease in color when dried for too long under the sun which is one of the disadvantages of woven fabrics that use natural dyes. In this study, we want to prove the existing hypothesis by conducting experiments on woven fabrics using natural dyes, with a drying process starting at 10.00 - 16.00, and for taking each image sample every 1 hour. From the results of the drying process, 6 samples of drying images and 1 sample of initial images that were not dried as a comparison to get a comparison of data that went through the image processing process in the form of RGB values, histograms and MSE and PSNR values, to measure image quality which is an indication that there is a decrease in color in woven fabric images that use natural dyes using MATLAB in helping the calculation process. The result of this study is the color change that can be seen from the calculation data in the form of RGB values, Histograms and MSE and PSNR values.
