Abstract

A soprano recorder is a musical instrument that is played by blowing. The sound produced by this instrument is melodic. The recorder is usually used as a school musical instrument that is taught to junior high school students. In fact the students of junior high school Nusa Cendana International Plus School (NCIPS) have not been taught the soprano recording instrument. The formulation of the research problem is how to introduce the basic tecnhique of playing the soprano recorder in the basic C note with the song Kau Ko Solo model through imitation and drill methods for studen in class VIII junior high school Nusa Cendana International Plus School (NCIPS) in Kupang city. The purpose of this research is to identify and describe the effort to introduce the basic tecnhique of playing the soprano recorder in the basic C note with the song Kau Ko Solo model through imitation and drill methods for student in class VIII junior high school Nusa Cendana International Plus School (NCIPS) in Kupang city. This research is qualitatif. The method used is field action and the data in the study were obtainedby conducting observations, interviews and documentation. The results showed that from an effort to introduce the basic tecnhique of playing the soprano recorder in the basic C note with the song Kau Ko Solo as the model, it was found that the eight grade students who were the research subjects had musical abilities. They can play the scales and song models the researchers provide through joint research meetings. Although it was also found that some subjects were still experiencing problems, but the learning of soprano recording should continue to be developed in the school. So that the imitation and drill method is very beneficial in learning school musical instruments.
