Abstract
This study was conducted with the aim of knowing the types of plants used in the manufacture of traditional medicinal oils for the Sandosi community on Adonara Island and the Lamatuka community on Lembata Island as well as the content of compounds in the traditional medicinal oils used and the benefits of the compounds contained. The research methods were interviews to determine the types of plants used in the manufacture of medicinal oil ingredients, conducting compound analysis in samples of traditional medicinal oil ingredients using GC-MS and reviewing the literature on the benefits of the compounds contained in medicinal oil ingredients. The results obtained that the plants used in the manufacture of traditional medicinal oil ingredients for the Sandosi people are 3 types of plants, while the Lamatuka people have 45 plant species. The dominant compounds from the results of the GC-MS analysis of the traditional medicinal oil ingredients of the Lamatuka community include: lauric acid, myristic acid, Dilauri, Tridecanal, oleic acid, oleamide, 1,3-Dipalmitin, trilaurin, trioctanoin and corwin compounds. While the dominant compounds in the traditional medicinal oil ingredients of the Sandosi Adonara community include: lauric acid, palmitic acid, oleic acid, delta decalactone, oxacyclododecan-2-one, 10-undecenyl chloride, 9-octadecenal, tridecanoic acid, ethyl trans-3-(2-oxo-5-methylcyclohexyl) propionate, delta dodecalactone, trioctanoin, 10-Undecenoic acid, methyl ester and oleamide. The bioactivity of the compounds contained in the two traditional medicinal oil ingredients from the GC-MS results, namely: painkillers, anti-pain, anti-infection, diuretic, antiviral, antioxidant and as a natural antibiotic on infected skin.
