Abstract

The DPRD building is a forum for the activities of government institutions from members of the legislative council in the form of buildings. These activities are related to two elements, namely executive institutions with the community, both of which affect the duties and authorities of members of the legislative assembly. The relationship between DPRD and government institutions is a working relationship related to the authority of DPRD as the controller of the government. While the relationship with the community is the relationship between the duties of the DPRD as a container for the aspirations of the people who are conveyed to the government, so that the duties and authorities are the shapers and functions of the building itself. Alor Regency is one of the regencies in the province of East Nusa Tenggara which does not yet have a DPRD building as one of the proper government support facilities and can display a form of building with local characteristics that are quality, effective and efficient as possible. The DPRD building using the "Vernacular Architectural Transformation" approach is an architectural design that adapts to the local climate, uses local techniques and materials, is influenced by social, cultural, and economic aspects of the local community. This vernacular architecture takes or adapts the shape of the local house area which is then transformed into a new form without eliminating the original form.
