Abstract
In mixed ensemble games, students are taught to be able to play each musical instrument by paying attention to the harmony of sound supported by cohesiveness when starting and maintaining the tempo of the game. The main problemin this studyis how to improve the skills of playing mixed ensemble music for students withinterest in music at SMAK Warta Bakti Kefamenanu with the Indonesian fertilemodel song using imitation and drill methods. The purpose of this study was todetermine the success of using imitation and drill methods in an effort to improvemixed ensemble music playing skills for students of SMAK Warta Bakti Kefamenanumusic interest with the Indonesian Subur model song. This research is qualitative, themethod used in this research is field action research, the data collection techniqueused is literature study and field study consisting of observation, interview, anddocumentation techniques, while the learning methods used are drill and imitationmethods. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of mixed musiclearning efforts uses three stages, namely the initial stage of recruiting members, anddistributing the training schedule. At the core stage, the researcher explained about themixed ensemble material, division of roles, intro practice, and practice of the mainsong for all instruments. The final stage of the research is to display the researchresults. In learning, researchers found difficulties, especially in the tempo andcohesiveness when combining all instruments. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that in the research process, the researchers found several obstacles, namely the research subject had difficulties in reading notation, fingering, tempoandcompactness, but these problems could be overcome by using imitation and drill methods
