Abstract

Title of thesis: profile of independence of class VIII E students of SMP Negeri 10 Kupang for the 2022/2023 academic year and the implications for personal guidance programs. Formulation of the problem 1) what is the profile of the independence of class VIIIE students of SMP Negeri 10 Kupang for the 2022/2023 academic year? 2) what are the implications of the independence profile of class VIIIE students of SMP Negeri 10 Kupang for the 2022/2023 academic year for the personal guidance program? The purpose of this study was to find out 1) the independence profile of class VIIIE students at SMP Negeri 10 Kupang for the 2022/2023 academic year. 2) implications for the independence profile of class VIII E students of SMP Negeri 10 Kupang for the 2022/2023 academic year for the personal guidance program. This study used a quantitative descriptive method with a data collection tool in the forma of a student independence questionnaire. The data analysis technique used is the central tendency analysis. The results of the analysis of each aspect show that the emotional independence aspect score of 53.4310 is in the range of scores 43-55 including the high category, the aspect of behavioral independence score of 51.1557 is between the range of scores 40-51 including the high category, the aspect of independence value a score of 55, 5689 is in the range of scores 43-55 including the high category. It can be concluded that class VIIIE students of SMP Negeri 10 Kupang for the 2022/2023 academic year have good independence. In accordance with the results of the research above, the researcher provides suggestions to a) The school principal as the person in charge of the school to continue to coordinate counselors or guidance counselors in carrying out personal guidance properly, in order to help students overcome problems so they can maintain good independence. b) Guidance and counseling teachers are expected to design and develop personal guidance programs to maintain good student independence. c) Students are expected to actively utilize the personal guidance program implemented by the guidance and counseling teacher to maintain good independence.
