Abstract

SMP Negeri 1 Amfoang Utara in general, in practice, all students do not know how to play the piano instrument, because there is no piano instrument available for students at SMP Negeri 1 Amfoang Utara. The main problem of the results of this study is how to learn the basic techniques of playing piano ensembles. The purpose of this study was to find out how the process of learning basic techniques of playing the piano musical instrument for students in class VII C of SMP Negeri 1 Amfoang Utara through imitation and drill methods. While the research method is a field action research method. In this study the authors used a qualitative approach using observation techniques, interview techniques , and documentation techniques. The results showed that there was an increase in learning the basic techniques of playing the piano with the Oras Loro Malirin song model for students in class VII C of SMP Negeri 1 Amfoang Utara, Amfoang Utara District, Kupang Regency. This can be seen in the research process which was divided into three stages, namely the initial stage regarding recruitment class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Amfoang Utara and determining the rehearsal schedule, the core stage includes explaining piano ensemble material, forming groups and applying ensemble theory material through practice which is carried out for 7 meetings. The final stage includes staging the results of the Oras Loro Malirin song and taking video. Based on the results of the research and discussion it can be concluded that through the imitation method and drill sea students can play the piano ensemble with the Oras Loro Malirin song model well even though it is not too perfect.
