This research is a descriptive qualitative research which aims to describe students' mathematical communication abilities in terms of reflective and impulsive cognitive styles. This research was conducted at SMPK St. Theresia Kupang in the odd semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. The subjects in this study consisted of 1 student with a reflective cognitive style and 1 student with an impulsive cognitive style who were selected based on a cognitive style test, namely the Matching Familiar Figures Test (MFFT) and recommendations from mathematics subject teachers at school. The data collection method in this research uses tests consisting of the cognitive style test/MFFT, Mathematical Communication Ability Test (TKKM), and interviews. The data analysis technique used in this research consists of three paths, namely data reduction, presentation and drawing conclusions. The research results showed that subjects with a reflective cognitive style were able to fulfill all four indicators of mathematical communication ability, while impulsive subjects only met one to two indicators of mathematical communication ability.
