Abstract

Ndoto music is one of the musical instruments originating fromWajo Village, Keo Tengah District, Nagekeo Regency which is used as part of the NgaghaMere ritual. Based on interviews with local people, the author obtainedinformation that most people know what Ndoto music is but do not knowhowto play it, especially, how to present Ndoto music as a formof musical presentation as a whole in the Ngagha Mere ritual. The main problems inthisstudy are (1) How to analyse the presentation of Ndoto music in NgaghaMereritual in Wajo village, Keo Tengah sub-district, Nagekeo Regency? (2) What isthe function of Ndoto music presentation in Ngagha Mere ritual in Wajo village, Keo Tengah sub-district, Nagekeo Regency? This study aims to (1) todetermine the analysis of the presentation of Ndoto music in the NgaghaMereritual in Wajo village, Central Keo District, Nagekeo Regency. (2) to findout the function of Ndoto Music presentation in Ngagha Mere ritual in WajoVillage, Keo Tengah District, Nagekeo Regency. This research uses qualitativeresearch with a descriptive approach. Data collection was carried out throughinterviews and documentation. the subjects in this study are, namely, traditional leaders who know the Presentation of Ndoto Music in the NgaghaMere ritual. The stages of this research are conducting interviews, askingquestions, documentation and analysing interviews. Based on the results of theresearch, it can be concluded that the existence of both its presentationandfunction still exists in the life of the local community.
