Abstract
Thesis Title: Effectiveness of Applying Symbolic Modeling Techniques Through Group Tutoring Services to Increase Learning Motivation for Class IXB Students at St Yoseph Naikoten II Catholic Middle School, Kupang, academic year 2023/2024. The problem in this research is whether the application of symbolic modeling techniques through group guidance is effective in increasing the learning motivation of class IXB students at St Yoseph Naikoten II Catholic Middle School, Kupang, academic year 2023/2024? The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of applying symbolic modeling techniques through group guidance in increasing the learning motivation of class IXB students at St Yoseph Naikoten II Catholic Middle School, Kupang, academic year 2023/2024. The method used in this research is quantitative descriptive with pre-experimental design (one-group pretest-posttest design). The instruments used in this research were questionnaires and intervention guidelines. The data analysis technique uses the t test formula. The results of the analysis show a value of 43.806, while the value at the 5% significance level is 2.571. Thus the value > . This shows that symbolic modeling techniques through group guidance are effective in increasing the learning motivation of class IXB students at SMPK St Yoseph Naikoten II Kupang for the 2023/2024 academic year. Based on the results of this research, the researcher provides suggestions to: 1) Principals are expected to better coordinate and support the entire counseling guidance program so that it is implemented well in order to help students increase their motivation to learn. 2) Guidance and Guidance Teachers are expected to be more creative in applying symbolic modeling techniques through group guidance services in an effort to increase student learning motivation. 3) Students are expected to actively participate in taking part in group guidance services using symbolic modeling techniques carried out by guidance and counseling teachers to increase learning motivation.
