Abstract

Learning the art of music at school cannot be separated from ensemble learners. One of the schools in East Nusa Tenggara that has ensemble classes is SMAS Reform PluNoelbaki. The music ensemble class at the school is also going quite well. However, based on observations, the author discovered a phenomenon that ensemble music playing at the school was only focused on 1 basic note, namely the basic note C. This phenomenon encouraged the author to write about improving the ability to play mixed ensemble music in different basic notes, namely G ( 1#). The song Ende Deku Dengu was chosen as a song supplement to help the learning process during this research. The formulation of the problem is How do you play a mixed ensemble with the Ende Deku Dengu song model for the students of SMAS Reform Plus Noelbaki? What is the learning process for playing a mixed ensemble properly and correctly using the Ende Deku Dengu song model for the students of SMAS Reform Plus Noelbaki? This research aims to be able to find out how to play a mixed ensemble using the Ende Deku Dengu song model and to be able to describe the practice process properly and correctly. Before training students, researchers took a qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out by observation and interviews regarding ensemble playing abilities. In its implementation, researchers used cooperative, solfeggio and drill methods. These three methods are very effective in the training process. This research data was analyzed in a complete qualitative descriptive manner. Next, the data is classified according to sub-discussions to answer research problems. The benefits obtained from this research are increasing knowledge about ensembles, improving abilities in playing ensembles, and building good cooperation between one student andanother. The results achieved are that the students are able to understand how to play the song Ende Deku Dengu according to the role of each musical instrument in the score. With this, the research entitled Improving the Ability to Play Mixed EnsembleMusic Using the Ende Deku Dengu Song Model for Noelbaki Plus Reform High School Students was declared successful.
