Abstract

Thesis Title: The effectiveness of applying brainstorming techniques through group guidance to increase the assertive behavior of class Science I at SMA Negeri 4 Kupang Academic Year 2023/2024?. The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of applying brainstorming techniques through group guidance to increase the assertive behavior of class students at XI IPA 1 SMA Negeri 4 Kupang for the 2023/2024 academic year. The method used in this research is quantitative description with pre-experimental design (one group pretest-posttest design). The instruments used in this research were an assertive behavior questionnaire as a data collection instrument and intervention guidelines as a treatment instrument. The data analysis technique uses the t test formula. The results of the analysis show that the t_count value is 53.3125, while the t_table value at the 5% significance level is 2.132, thus the t_count value > t_table value. This shows that brainstorming techniques through group guidance services are effective in increasing the assertive behavior of class XI IPA 1 students at SMA Negeri 4 Kupang for the 2023/2024 academic year. Based on the results of this research, the researcher provides suggestions to 1) The principal, as the person in charge of the school, who can use it as information material so that he continues to support all school programs, especially the guidance and counseling program, so that it can run well to help students in need. 2) Guidance and Counseling Teachers are expected to continuously provide group guidance using brainstorming techniques to increase students' assertive behavior. 3) students are expected to actively participate in group guidance using brainstorming techniques carried out by guidance and counseling teachers to increase students' assertive behavior.
