Abstract

The use of modern technology is increasingly developing, but writing music scoresremains complex and requires special skills. Music Education students need softwarethat is simple, easy to use, efficient in storage, and can be accessed fromvariousdevices. This study raises two problems: 1) How does the use of Noteflight softwarefacilitate the writing of song scores for fourth-semester Music Education students at UNWIRA Kupang? 2) What is the impact of using Noteflight on these students? Thepurpose of this study is to determine the use and impact of Noteflight in writingsongscores for fourth-semester students. This study is qualitative-descriptive with a fieldaction method, using data from literature studies, observations, and documentation. Four students from each class were involved, and the study was conducted inthreestages over eight meetings. The results of the study showed that the learning processbegan with an introduction and registration of a Noteflight account, an explanationof the software's use, including ornamentation and dynamics markings, typing exercises, and different song score imitation assignments for each student. Researchersaccompanied each student individually and evaluated the accuracy of the scores andmusical markings they created. Obstacles faced by students included difficultyoperating Noteflight and inconsistencies between the scores and the song lyrics. Thesolution was intensive mentoring, direct explanation of the steps when typingnotation, and recommendations for using a laptop keyboard to reduce errors. Noteflight learning had a positive impact in the form of increased digital literacy, learning efficiency, and professional readiness of students. Its contribution was seenin technical mastery, collaboration, and the development of creativity and digital portfolios relevant to music education in the digital era.
