Abstract

Thesis Title: The Influence of Learning Styles on the Learning Achievement of Class VIII Students of SMP Negeri 11 Kupang in the Academic Year of 2024/2025. The problem in this study is whether there is an influence of learning styles on the learning achievement of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 11 Kupang in the Academic Year of 2024/2025? The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of learning styles on the learning achievement of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 11 Kupang in the Academic Year of 2024/2025. The type of research used is quantitative descriptive research. The variables in this study are the independent variable of learning styles (X) and the dependent variable of learning achievement (Y). The research population was 310 class VIII students and the research sample was 79 students. The sampling technique was a simple random sampling technique. Data collection tools were learning style questionnaires and document studies. The research data analysis technique used simple linear regression. The results of the study showed that: 1) the calculated t value > t table (-3.212 > 1.665) with a significance of 0.002 < 0.05. 2) Fcount value > Ftable (10,318 > 3,965) with a significance of 0.002 < 0.05. These results prove that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning there is an influence of learning styles on the learning achievement of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 11 Kupang in the 2024/2025 academic year. The results of the determination coefficient test show an R Square value of 0.118. These results prove that the contribution of learning styles to student learning achievement is 11.8%, while 88.2% is the contribution of other variables not examined in this study. Based on the results of the study, the researcher provides suggestions to: a) The principal as a leader in the school is expected to collaborate with guidance and counseling teachers to design and implement guidance and counseling programs that can help students identify their learning styles so that they can improve student learning achievement. b) Guidance and counseling teachers are expected to plan guidance and counseling service programs that suit students' needs and implement them sustainably to help students recognize their respective learning styles so that they can improve student learning achievement. c) Subject teachers are expected to increase cooperation with guidance and counseling teachers to obtain information related to each student's learning style, so that they can design a targeted learning approach, so that it can improve student learning achievement. d) Students are expected to be actively involved in following guidance and counseling services implemented by guidance and counseling teachers so that they are able to know and understand their learning styles to improve their learning achievement.
