Abstract
Thesis Title: Differences in Achievement Motivation of Class VII Students of UPTD SMP Negeri 11 Kupang in the 2024/2025 Academic Year. The problem in this study is whether there is a difference in achievement motivation between class VII D and VII G students of UPTD SMP Negeri 11 Kupang in the 2024/2025 Academic Year. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in achievement motivation between class VII D and VII G students of UPTD SMP Negeri 11 Kupang in the 2024/2025 Academic Year. The type of research used is quantitative research with a comparative approach. The variable in this study is a single variable, namely achievement motivation. The population in this study were class VII D and VII G students totaling 56 students and the research sample totaling 56 students. The sampling technique was a purposive sampling technique. The data collection tool was a questionnaire. The research data analysis technique used the Independent Sample T-test. The results of the analysis showed that class VII D had an average value of 120.89, while class VII G had an average value of 108.43 with a sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.004 <0.05. These results can be concluded that there is a difference in achievement motivation of class VII D and VII G students at UPTD SMP Negeri 11 Kupang in the 2024/2025 academic year, so that the hypothesis (Ho) which states that there is no difference in achievement motivation between class VII D and VII G students at UPTD SMP Negeri 11 Kupang in the 2024/2025 academic year in this study is rejected, while the alternative hypothesis (Ha) which states "there is a difference in achievement motivation between class VII D and VII G students at UPTD SMP 11 Kupang in the 2024/2025 academic year" is accepted. Based on the research results, the researcher provides suggestions to: a) Principals are expected to provide opportunities for teachers to participate in learning training related to the development of teacher competencies, especially pedagogical competencies, because they are closely related to methods and strategies as well as the use of media in learning. b). Guidance and Counseling Teachers are expected to be more active in providing counseling and coaching that can help students in increasing achievement motivation, both individually and in groups to help overcome differences in achievement motivation between classes. c). Subject Teachers need to know more about how to make learning in the classroom more interesting and enjoyable so that they are motivated to participate in learning with enthusiasm. Teachers need to prepare learning plans well, use appropriate and innovative learning strategies so that students are more active. d). Homeroom teachers are expected to provide support and positive reinforcement to students in increasing achievement motivation, as well as conducting intensive communication with parents to create learning support at home. c). Students are expected to be more active in participating in the learning process and always motivated to achieve by participating in various activities that support self-development, both academic and non-academic, in order to achieve educational goals optimally.
